The above picture was taken on 27 September, 1917, on the square in downtown McKinney. This is the 2nd group of local boys that were  inducted into the US Army for World War I. Marion Francis Medcalf, of Melissa, was one of those young men. Medcalf is standing just over the S in the word BOYS.
