Was on ship USS Evansville with home port of Yokosuka, Japan (1951) and USS Baltimore with home port of Boston, Massachusetts.(1952-1954)
Atkins, Charles Merchant Marines     Seaman        WW II 1944-1947 Graduated from Prosper in 1942. Served in France, Italy and North Aftica. Son of Ross and Lelia Atkins who were early settlers in area.
Nephew of Maynard Atkins.
Atkins, James M. U. S. Nary Air Corp.     Ensign         WW II 1943 Son of Delia Rutherford Atkins and J. Marvin Atkins..  Kin to W. A. Johnson family.  His plane collided with another plane in the Gulf of Mexico near Pensacola, Florida and his body was never recovered.  (1943)  Buried at sea.
Atkins, Maynard U. S. Army         WW I 1917-1920 Early Settler in the Prosper/Celina area. Served in France in WWI.  Uncle of Charles Atkins.
Ausenbaugh, Bryan U. S. Marines     Corporal     Peacetime 1988-1991 Took Basid Training at Camp Pendleton, California and spent most of his time at Camp Pendleton.
Bailey, D. A. U. S. Army      Private       WW II 1945-1946 Son of L. Bascom and Ruby Bailey . Ruby married George Templin after his first wife died. Was awarded the Purple Heart for wounds received in Leyte, Phillipines. Brother of R. J. Bailey

Baker, John Lee U. S. Coast Guard          WW II 1940-1941 Attended School in Prosper.  Son of William Molton "Mote" and Damia Baker.  Served in Louisiana and received a medical discharge.  Brother of Woodrow M. Baker and grandson of John W. and Susan Renison Baker.
Baker, John W. Confederate Army       Civil War 1863-1865 John W. Baker was born in North Carolina and joined the Confererate Army at an early age.  After the war he moved to Breckenridge, Texas and stayed a short time and then moved to Rock Hill in the 1870's.  When most of Rock Hill moved to Prosper in 1902 John and his wife, Susan Renison (whose family were pioneers in the Rock Hill Area) moved to Prosper. There son was William M. "Mote" Baker.  John W. Baker was the grandfather of Woodrow M. and John Lee Baker.
Baker, Woodrow M. U. S. Air Force     St. Sgt.       WW II 1943-1946 Graduated from Prosper High School in 1942. Son of William Molton "Mote" and Damia Baker.Trained as Gunner in Air Force but ended up as a radio operator.  Flew on PBY's and B-17's. Was assigned to Emergency Rescue Squadron on Okinawa.  Grandson of John W. and Susan Renison Baker.  John W. Baker was in the Civil War.  Woodrow was a brother of John Lee Baker. 
Barlow, Henry, Jr U. S. Army & Marines           WW II   Graduated from McKinney High School. Received the Purple Heart as he was wounded in action at Okinawa in the Pacific. Son of Henry Collins and Mary Barlow.  Barlow family first settled in Rock Hill area in 1850.
Barnes, Glen U. S. Army     Corporal       Korean 1952-1954 Graduated from Prosper in 1947.  Son of Richard (Dick) and Gertrude Barnes. Spent two years at White Sands Missile Range in New Mexico with the 9577 Signal Corps.
Bass, Raymond Leon U. S. Army Air Corp.       Sgt.       WW  II 1939-1945 Currently lives in Prosper.  Was a B-17 Gunner in the U. S. Air Corp. in WW II. Stationed in England.
Bates, Clary U. S. Navy Lt. Jr. Grade      WW II 1943-`947 Lived in Prosper in 1927-1930.  Son of Charles Bristo and Emma Catherine Clary Bates.  Emma was a sister of U. N. Clary.  His father, Charles Bates was an auditor for Lyon Gray Lumber Co.
Clary was a medical officer and when discharged became an urologist in Austin, Texas.
Baxter, James U. S. Army Air Corp        Sgt.       WW II 1942-1945 Attended Schools in Rhea Mills.  Son of James Cloyd and Rosalie Griffin Baxter. Served on Iwo Jima and Guam.  Serviced planes after flying missions in the Pacific.  Brother of Kenneth Baxter.
Baxter, Kenneth U. S. Army Corporal    Peacetime 1956-1958 Graduated from Prosper in 1951.  Son of James Cloyd and Rosalie Griffin Baxter.  Stationed in England for 18 months.  Maintenance of vehicles in Motor Pool.   Brother of James Baxter.
Beanland, James Higgins Confederate Army        Civil War   James Beanland was the father of Charles Edgar (C. E. ) Beanland.  He served in the 32nd Mississippi Regiment during the Civil War.
Beckner, O. B. Jr. U. S. Marines   Corporal      WW II 1941-1945 Lived in Prosper.  Married Charlene Greenwood from Prosper.  Was an M. P. at Camp Pendleton, California.   Sons Ralph and Charles attended Prosper Schools.

Bell, Charles U. S. Army      T-4         WW II 1946-1946 Graduated from Prosper High School. (1941) Son of Lawrence Emmett "Wog" and Willie Bell.  Early settlers in area.  Brother of Galen Bell.  Was an automotive technician in the war. Was drafted in early 1946 for WW II but discharged after one year
Bell, Galen U. S. Army Air Force             Stf. Sgt.         WW II 1942-1945 Graduated from Prosper High School.  Son of Lawrence Emmett "Wog" and Willie Bell who were early settlers in the Prosper area.  Was awarded the Bronze Star Medal.  Brother of Charles Bell.
Bell, Gary Lynn U. S. Army   Lt. Colonel       Career 1967-1987 Graduated from Prosper in 1961.  20 years in the U. S. Army in the Signal Corp.  Son of J. E. and Geneva Clyde Bell. Gary served in Vietnam, Germany, Honduras, Baharain, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Egypt. Bell family was early settlers in Rock Hill.

Bell, Steve U. S. Army      Spec-4     Vietnam 1959-1960 Lives in Prosper.  Served in Combat Infantry, 1st Air Cavalry Division.  Received Purple Heart, 2 Bronze Stars, Air Medals, National Defense Service Medals and Good Conduct Medals.
Biggs, Harold U. S. Navy Sea. 2nd Cl.      WW II 1939-1947 Graduated from Princeton High School.  Married Lona Robison from Prosper. Lona lost her first husband (George Earl Dalton from Princeton) on Okinawa in one of the last battles of WW II.  Harold was assigned to Pearl Harbor and had left the harbor on December 6, 1941 on a Cruiser to protect the Aircraft Carrier Enterprise, which was on manuvers.  They were at sea on December 7, 1941 when the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor.  They returned the next day to see all the destruction.  He spent many 24 hour days helping to clean up.  After Pearl he was assigned to the U. S. S. Northhampton.  This boat was sunk by the Japanese in the South Pacific (Battle of the Coral Sea).  Spent three days floating in the water (life jacket) waiting for rescue.  Was not enough life boats for everyone. The survivors (900 out of 1,000 crew members) formed a circle and splashed water to drive away the sharks. They were rescued after 3 days in the water by a U. S. ship.  Lona was the sister of J. E., Bruce and Ross Robison.
Black, Damon Saye U. S Army/Navy/Air Force    Mast. Sgt.         Graduated from Prosper in 1945. Son of John and Lora Davidson Black.  Career in Military Service.  Brother of Robert "Bob" Black.
Black, Robert "Bob" U. S. Army       Private       WW II 1944-1946 Son of John and Lora Davidson Black. Graduated from Prosper High School. Served in New Guinea, Northern and Southern Philippines  Lost leg in WW II as a result of leg wounds received on the Island of Luzon in the Philippines.  He was involved in six invasions in the Pacific. Bob received the Asiatic Pacific Service Medal, Purple Heart, Philippines Liberation Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal and Two Bronze Stars. Brother of Damon Black.  Robert Black married Imogene West, who was a sister of Leo West.  Leo graduated from Prosper in 1940 and served in the U. S. Army.  Bob's first wife, Imogene, died and he married Marilyn Pierce on April 9, 2006 in Denton, Texas. 
Blackmon, Warren U. S. Navy        CSO         WW II 1945-1946
Graduated from Alla High School in 1942. Son of Vance and Faye Blackmon.  Sisters were Vancie and Marion who graduated from Prosper.  Married Georgia Province from Prosper.  Entered U. S Navy in 1945 and was 3rd class signalman and served in Japan until 1946.  Was discharged and became a member of the U. S. Naval Reserves in 1947.  Was a long term member of the Reserves and became a Commissioned Officer (Chief Staff Officer).  Duties were Civil Engineering Officer and Contract Administration.   
Blair, Christopher U. S. Air Force        E-4      Peacetime 1981-1985 Moved to Prosper in 2003.  Served with the 67th Civil Engineering Squadron.  Stationed at Bergstrom Air Force Base, Austin, Texas and Fort Lewis Washington, Washington (Tacoma).  Received Commendation Medal.  Was a High Voltage/Airfield electrician.
Blue, Delmer Dean (Dean) U. S. Air Force      Stf. Sgt.     Korean 1951-1955 Moved to Prosper in 2007.  Spent his time at Maxwell Air Force Base in Montgomery, Alabama-.Air University Command.  Was assigned to Statistical Services.  Record keeping for finance, personnel, etc.
Bonner, Bob U. S. Army        E-4     Peacetime 1975-1978 Moved to  Prosper in 1970. Graduated from Prosper High School in 1974.  Brother of Jerry Bonner.Stationed at Ft. Bliss, Texas, Ft. Devens, Massachusetts and then Korea.  Back to Ft. Bliss, Texas  (El Paso, Texas).  Was in electronic commumincations.
Bonner, Jerry U. S. Air Force      Stf. Sgt.     Peacetime 1974-1980 Moved to Prosper in 1970  Graduated from Prosper High School in 1973.  Brother of Bob Bonner.  Stationed at Shepard Air Force Base in Wichita Falls, Texas and  Maxwell Air Force Base in Montgomery, Alabama.  Was an X-ray technician.
Boyer, John U. S Air Force     Lt. Col.     Career 1969-1989 Graduated from Prosper High School in 1965     .  Son of Ralph and Mary Lynn Nesbitt Boyer.  Attended Air Force Academy from 1965-1969 and retired from the Air Force in 1989. Served on Okinawa from 1979-1982.  Was a Management (Industrial)  Engineer in the Air Force.    .
Boyer, Ralph U. S. Army Air Corp    1st. Lt.         WW II 1941-1945 Son of Mr. and Mrs. C. L. Boyer. Ralph was born in Ohio but after the war married Mary Lynn Nesbitt, daughter of Bob and Clara Nesbitt. Navigator on B-17 during WWII.  Flew 25 Missions over Germany. Bank President and Mayor of Prosper.
Brandon, W. D. (Dub) U. S. Army Air Corp    Captain       Career 1940-1963 Graduated from Prosper in 1939.  Son of Eric and Ella Brandon.  Served 23 years in the Air Force. Airplane mechanic.  WWII and Korea.
Bridges, Ralph Waldo U. S. Army           WW II 1945 Served with 8th Infantry in Army as a Glider Pilot.
Bristol, David F. U. S. Air Force     Major     Career 1987-2007 Moved to Prosper in 2003. Served on the Prosper City Council.  Attended the Air Force Academy from 1982-1987. Was a fighter Pilot for the F-111 and F-15E.  Was also an Instructor for the T-38.  Was stationed at the RAF base in Lakenheath, UK., Saudia Arabia, Sheppard AFB in Wichita Falls, Texas and numerous other bases. Fought in the Iraq War and received the Distinguished Flying Cross with Valor Medal, Multiple Air Force Medals and the Meritorious Service Medal.  Went from active duty to the Texas Air National Guard in 1995, then to the Reserves in 1997 and discharged in 2007.
Brooks, Jack U. S. Army     Sgt,    Peacetime 1932-1935 Father of R. W. Brooks.  Lived in Prosper School District.  Served in the 1ST. Calvary. Stationed at Ft. Bliss, Texas.  Cared for the horses.  Later was a cook after Calvary disbanded.
Brooks, R. W. U, S. Army    Spec. 4     Viet Nam 1964-1966 Attended Prosper High School.  Graduated in 1961. Son of Jack and Faye Brooks. Served in the 121ST Signal Corp..Was in communications.   Secret-Crypto-Teletype.  Stationed at Ft. Polk, Louisiana, Ft. Gordon, Georgia, Ft Eustace, Virginia and Ft. Riley, Kansas.  Also served six months in Viet Nam from October 1965 to April 1966.

Cantrell, Grady U. S. Army    Private         WW II   Married Maurice Cunningham of Prosper.  Operated Service Station and lived in Prosper. Served with the Corp of Engineers in the Philippines.
Carey, John  (Buddy) U. S. Army    Corporal       Korean 1953-1955 Son of Mr. and Mrs. Clint Carey. Graduated from Alla Hubbard.  Had grocery store in Prosper.  Served in Anchorage, Alaska.
Carmen, James A. U. S Air Force        Sgt.    Peacetime 1969-1976 Lives in Prosper. Statiioned at Lackland AFB in San Anotonio and Goose Bay, Labrador.
Carrell, Ramsey U. S Army       Sgt.      Viet Nam 1964-1975 Son of Walter and Jessie  Frances Washburn Carrell.  Attended school in Prosper.  Was in the Army for 11 years.  Drove gasoline trucks and built refueling stations for helicopters. Served three tours (four years) in Viet Nam.  Also served two years in Germany.
Cashion, Merrill C. U. S. Army Air Corp           WW II 1940-1945 Graduated from Prosper.  Paratrooper with 101st Airborne Division.  Served in Europe.
Chapman, Charles Thomas U. S. Marines   Lt. Colonel      Career 1948-1973 Son of Bartow and Jessie Chapman of Prosper.  They were early settlers in the Prosper area.  Charles was born in Prosper on February 6, 1930 and joined the Marines in 1948.  He had tours in Vietnam and Korea and later served as the Commanding Officer of the Marine Reserve Center in Raleigh, North Carolina.
Chesney, Clyde Ray U. S. Army       Cpl.       Korean 1953-1955 Graduated from Prosper High School in 1950.  Son of Luther and Willie Johnson Chesney. Entered the Army on March 4, 1953 at Ft. Hood, Texas and spent the entire two years there.  He was a finance clerk in the Personnel Office.  He was assigned to a tank battallion in the 1st Armored Division and then to the 4th Armored Division.  He was discharged on March 4, 1955.

Chesney, Ernest U. S. Army   Corporal         WW II 1942-1945 Attended Prosper Schools.  Served in Germany with 926th Signal Bn.. Son of Sam and Minnie Chesney.  Brother of Elmo Chesney.
Clary, Daniel Bernard U. S. Army Elect.- 1st Cl.       WW I 1917-1922 Son of Benjamin and Maggie Clary.  Born in Prosper, Texas on February 13, 1894 and was a brother of U. N. Clary.  Enlisted in the U. S. Navy on August 10, 1917 and was assigned to the U. S. S. Idaho as an electrician's mate-first class.  Discharged on October 19, 1919 but re-enlisted for two more years on the same ship.  Died on October 19, 1922 as a result of complications of tublar appendicitus which happened while in the U. S. Army.

Cole, Lauren Vernon U.S. Navy     C. E. M.         WW I & II   Lived in Prosper.   Married Elizabeth Bryant Nevins Patrick.  Lauren served in WWI and WWII in the U. S. Navy. During WW II his ship was hit by enemy fire and he was wounded.  Many were killed.  Returned to Prosper, did miscellaneous jobs (one was stone contractor) and farmed the rest of his life.  Brother of Rex Eric Cole who operated a grocery store in Prosper.
Cole, Steven U. S. Army  Stf. Sgt. (E-6)         Iraq 2002-2011 Moved to Prosper in 2008. Took Basic Training at Fort Benning, Georgia.  Was in the U. S. Infantry and then became Drill Sgt.  Served in Iraq and also had assignments at Fort Riley, Kansas, Fort Sill, Oklahoma and Conroe, Texas.
Coleman, William M. U. S. Air Force      1st, Lt.    Peacetime 1979-1983 Moved to Prosper in 1998. Stationed at Davis Monthan Air Force Base in Texas.  Was a Missile Combat Crew Commander and assigned to the 570th Strategic Missile Squadron.
Conaster, Wales Clovis U. S. Army Air Force       Sgt.       WW II 1942-1945 Graduated from Celina High School.  Son of J. E. and Esthelle Conaster. Married Beulah Kate Lane from Prosper.  Airplane mechanic.
Crank, Joe Ben U. S. Army    1st, Lt.       Peacetime 1955-1957 Son of Richard and Elva Thompson Crank.  Brother of Robert (Bob) Crank. Took basic training at Fort Monmouth, New Jersey.  Transferred to Fort Huachuca, Arizona and spent the balance of his time in Arizona.  Was in Signal Corp.  Communications-Field Testing
Crank, Richard Allen Confederate Army      Pvt.       Civil War 1862- Enlisted in the Confederate Army in Hartsville, Tennessee on September 1, 1862.  Served in Companies G and H of the 9th Tennessee Cavalry.  Furnished his own horse.  Served under Capt. J. D. Bennett. Discharge date not known.
Crank, Robert (Bob) U. S. Army    Tech. Sgt.        WW II 1944-1947 Son of Richard and Elva Thompson Crank.  Brother of Joe Ben Crank.  Took basic training at Ft. Hood, Texas then to Fort Monmouth, New Jersey for special communications training.  Was in Signal Corp. and transferred to Salzburg, Austria where he was in communications.
Dalton, George U. S. Army       Private       WW II 1944-1945 Married Lona Robison from Prosper.  Lona was sister of Bruce, Ross and J. E "Bud" Robison.  George was killed on Okinawa on May 21, 1945 after just six months in the service. Had a son born while he was in the service and never did see him.  George graduated from Princeton High School.
Dalton, Gerald U. S. Army       Private      WW II 1945-1946 Graduated from Prosper.  Son of Meredith Samuel (Sam) and Julia Hinsley Dalton.  Brother of Sammie Dalton, Jr. and Raymond L. Dalton.
Dalton, M. S.Jr. (Sammie) U. S. Army       Graduated from Prosper in 1951.  Son of Merdith Samuel (Sam) and Julia Hinsley Dalton. Brother of Raymond L. and Gerald Wayne Dalton.
Dalton, Meredith S. (Sam) U. S. Army      Pvt.      WW I   Lived in Prosper.  Known as "Sam".  Son of Eddly Anderson and Vaughty Gentle Dalton.  Father of Sammie Dalton, Jr., Gerald Wayne and Raymond L. Dalton.
Dalton, Raymond Lee U. S. Army     S- Sgt.          WW ll 1944-1945 Graduated from Prosper. Fought in Germany. Son of Merdith Samuel (Sam) and  Julia Hinsley Dalton.  Brother of Gerald Wayne and Sammie Dalton, Jr.
Davidson, Robert (Bob)         Graduated from Prosper High School.  Son of Donie and Fred Davidson. Note: Donie later married Dr. Robert W. Bounds after Fred passed away.  Served in the Marines and died in China.  Buried in Bethel Cemetery.
Dietz, Johnathan T. U. S. Army      1st, Lt.         Iraq 2009- Moved to Prosper in 1997.  Graduated from Prosper High School in 2005.  Went to the West Point Academy and graduated in 2009.  After graduation he was assigned to Ft. Sill, Oklahoma for six months training.  Then assiged to Ft.Hood, Texas in the Field Artillery. He is the assistant fire direction officer assigned to the 82nd Field Artillery Regiment, 1st Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division.  In July 2011 he was assigned to Iraq. Was awarded the Army Achievement Medal for meritorious service.
Dixon, Jack Sherman U. S. Marines (Reserves)       Sgt.     Peacetime 1964-1970 Moved to Prosper in 2007.  Was in the Reserves for six years.  Took his training at Paris Island, Georgia.  His occupation was a Motor transport Sergeant.
Dobbs, Sherman U. S. Navy     CYN3    Vietnam 1967-1971 Moved to Prosper in 2007. Served his Boot Camp in San Diego, California and technical training in communications at Norfork, Virginia..  Spent two years at the Naval Air Station in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.  Ended service on the USS Independence in the Mediterranean Sea. Was a Communications Yoeman 3.
Drees, Philip U. S. Army Air Force      Major        WW  II 1942-1946 Married Rosabel "Rose" Cunningham of Prosper.  Rose was the daughter of E. T. "Tuby" and Mazie Lewis Cunningham.  Went overseas in August 1943 and was a B-24 Liberator  Pilot.   He served with the 15th Air Force in North Aftica and Italy, serving 51 missions.  He returned to the U. S. in 1944 and served with the Air Transport Command out of Fairfield, California until his discharge in 1946.
Dubberly, Bobby Jene U. S. Navy   Sea. 1st Cl.          Korean 1951-1954 Graduated from Prosper in 1949.  Son of Nathaniel Lee (N. L.) and Lona Dubberly.  Brother of N. L. Dubberly, Jr.  Took Basic Training at Great Lakes, Illinois, Schooling in Bayonne, New Jersey and served in the South Pacific and Japan on the Aircraft Carrier."Antietam"  Was a storekeeper on the aircraft carrier. Rank was Seaman First Class.
Dubberly, Glenn Thomas U. S.Marines    Private          WW ll 1944-1945 Attended Prosper Schools. Fought on Okinawa and Guadalcanal. Son of James P. and Gertrude Dubberly.  Brother of Leroy Dubberly.
Dubberly, Lennie S. U. S. Army   Captain      WW II   Born in Prosper in 1908.  Married Fannie Hart. Became a Methodist Minister. Entered the Army as a Chaplain and served 27 months in New Guinea.  Was wounded in December 1943 and received the Purple Heart.  Son of Nathaniel Webster and Emma Dawson Dubberly
Dubberly, Leroy U. S. Army    Corporal        Korean 1953-1955 Graduated from Prosper in 1952.  Served 18 months in Germany in Radar Operations.  Son of James P. and Gertrude Dubberly.  Brother of Thomas Glen Dubberly.
Dubberly, Nathaniel L. Jr. U. S. Navy   AMM 3/c           WW ll 1943-1945 Graduated from Prosper in 1943. After he was discharged from the Navy he bacame a Methodist Minister and then a Medical Doctor. Wounded in the invasion of Luzon in the Philippines.  Awarded two Bronze Stars and three Ribbons. Duncan, Clinton W. U. S. Navy   P. O. 2nd Cl.     Peacetime 1982-1986 Moved to Prosper in 2009. Took Basic Training in Great Lakes, Illinois. Was an Operations Specialist (OS). Home Port was San Diego Naval Station but had ports of call in 13 different countries.  Served on multiple ships, including several Allied Forces ships and ground units. Grauated top of "A" and "C" school class. Represented U. S. Navy in a Navy Recruiting commercial.  Also represented U. S. Navy as a Liaison with Japanese Maritime Self Defense Forces in 1986, represented U. S. Navy in Naval Exchange Program with South Korean Naval Forces in 1985 and with the Canadian Navy in 1984.  Four Sea Service Ribbons. Received Two Admirals Letter of Commendation, Seven letters of Recognition and was a graduate of SERE. (Survival Evasion Resistance Escape)
Duncan, James Polk Union Army         Civil War  1861-1865 James Polk Duncan joined the Union Army at age 17.  Served with Company E, 2nd Tennessee Cavalry in General Grant's Army.  Served under his brother, 1st Lt. Daniel B. Duncan.  Several battles in Tennessee and the battle of Vicksburg, Mississippi.  Was discharged in Nashville, Tennessee on July 7, 1865.  Moved to Texas in 1869.

Most of the time he was on a ship but his ports were Pearl Harbor, Hawaii and San Diego, California.l.  Medals received were the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, National Defense Medal and the Vietnam (RVN) Service Medal. He also received a Letter of Commendation for service rendered in 1971 as the Leading Atmosphere Control Technicion aboard the USS Aspro.

Took Basic Training in Great Lakes, Illinois.  Set records while in Basic Training.  Swimming record for the free style 100 meters, set the highest rilfe range record by missing only one of 50 shots and the one shot was half in and half out of the black circle and his sea bag was photographed and used as a training station for new recruits. He completed Electronics School at Great Lakes and maintained all Radar, Radar Repeaters and Fire Control systems aboard the U. S. S. L. F. Mason  DD852 while serving in Korean waters. (1950-1952)  Medals received were the Korean Service 5 Star, UN Service, China Service and the Naval Occupation.

Jamison, Alonzo W. U. S. Army      Colonel      WW II 1942-1974 Son of A. W. and Cecil Wells Jamison. Born in Prosper, Texas on April 12, 1918.  Moved to Denton, Texas in 1932 and graduated from Denton High School.  He served as an officer in the anti-aircraft artillery unit in North Africa, Sicily, Italy, France and Germany during WW II.  He was awarded the Bronze Medal.  When he was discharged after the war he continued in the U. S. Army Reserves until 1974. He was elected to the Texas House of Representatives in 1954 and served until 1968.

(Willie R. and Horace Jay).Assigned to Calvary Division with Motorcycle Unit.  His unit was involved (second day) of the Normandy Invasion in WW II..  Was assigned to Reconaissance Unit and traveled behind German lines to radio information to Allied troops. His unit was awarded a Bronze Star.

Willie joined the Army Air Force after graduation from Prosper but could not go overseas as he had two brothers, Horace and Jessie, in the Service, Stationed at Perrin Air Base near Sherman, Texas.  Was radio tower operator.  These brothers played on the Prosper Independent Basketball Team.

She graduated in 1942.  Worked in the Oil Fields after military service..Son of John and Lula Kincaid.  Served in the U. S. Navy during WW II as an Aviation Machinist Mate, 2nd class. (AMM 2). Was based in several ports on the East Coast and had sea duty in South America and Southhampton, England.  Moved to Prosper in 1968 from Gretna, Louisiana.  John and Joyce had two children, John and Gary Kincaid.
King, Charles Lewis U. S. Army      Spec. 5      Vietnam 1958-1969 Joined the Army in 1958 when he was 18 years old.  Was living in Prosper at the time.  Served 11 years in the Army and was killed in Viet Nam on June 4, 1969 at Long An Province. He was with C Co. 2nd BN, 47th Inf. Reg. 9th Inf Division.

Larson, Leslie Alan U. S. Naval Reserve E-3 Sig. Sea.     Vietnam 1965-1966 Leslie "Alan" Larson and his wife Charlotte currently live in Celina, Texas.  However, they live closer to Prosper but have a Celina address. They both are very active in Prosper. Charlotte is President of the Prosper "50" and a member of the Prosper Historical Mueuem. Her dad is Y. M Putman.  He has passed away and her mother lives with them.  Alan was an E-3 Signalman Seaman and did his boot camp in San Diego, California.  He was on the USS Maggofin stationed in Camron Bay, Vietnam. He has received the National Defense Medal, US Vietnam ERA Campaign Ribbon and the Country of Vietnam Service Appreciation Medal. His father-in-law is Y. M. Putman.

Was involved in Desert Storm and Operation Southern Watch.  Was in Personnel Intell.  Served on many ships. Joe was the only Navy Representative ever to be selected as First Sergeant of an Entire Coalition Force in Saudi Arabia. Received the Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Navy Commendation Medal and the Navy Achievement Medal.

Martin, Jeremiah Confederate Army      Civil War 1861-1865 Joined the Confederate Army from Tennessee in 1861. Assigned to Co. A., 3rd Missouri Cavalry Marmaduke's Brigade.  After the Civil War he came to the Rhea"s Mill/Walnut Grove area and married Ruth Horn, a daughter of the Rev. Jeremiah Horn.  He became a Methodist Minister and his first assignment was the Wesley Chapel Methodist Church in 1865.  Wesley Chapel was located about two miles Northeast of the current town of Prosper.  (Prosper was not founded until 1902)

Martin, Ralph E. U. S. Army Air Corp.    Private        WW II 1943-1945 Son of Herschell and Minnie Zepshy Martin.  Married Margurite Anderson. Attended school in Good Hope and Prosper. While in the service, trained at Jefferson Barracks, Missouri and New Orleans, Louisiana.  He then was transferred to England where he served as a fireman and serviced planes before and after they returned from air raids in Germany and France. Later transferred to Germany.  Was in England and Germany for a total of 20 months.  Awarded the Conduct Medal for the European Theater and the Presidential Citation.  Father of Bobby Gene Martin, Sr. and Joe Cecil Martin.

Home AFB, Southeast Asia, Thailand and Cannon AFB from 1971-1978.  Flew F-4C's with Air National Guard at Ft. Smith, Arkansas from 1989-1992. Has been Fighter Pilot, Instruction Pilot, Wing Standard Evaluation Pilot, Wing Flight Safety Officer and Flight Commander.  Currently a Captain for Southwest Airlines (2013)

Mathers, George Shrader U. S. Army    Captain      WW I -1918 Son of William R. and Tennessee Catherine Shrader Mathers.  William was a doctor in Rock Hill and moved his practice to Prosper in 1902. George lived in Rock Hill and Prosper with his parents. He was a Chaplain with a Capitan Rank in the Medical Corps.  He died of pneumonia at Camp Meade, Maryland on October 6, 1918 and is buried at the Military Cemetery in Chicago, Illinois. His parents moved to McKinney in 1917 while George was in the service.
Matlack, John G. U. S. Marines     Captain      Viet Nam 1962-1966 Moved to Prosper in 2006.  Executive Officer of a Detachment of Marines for 13 months aboard the USS Chicago-CG-11.  Guided Missile Cruiser.  Primary jobs were to provide security of the ship and also deploy to rescue down pilots.  Cruiser carried Nuclear Weapons.

Mohon, Peter Robert Confederate Army      Pvt.       Civil War 1861-1865 Enlisted in The Confederate Army in October 1861 in Company G, 2nd Tennessee Cavalry Regiment.  Involved in many battles including Paducah, Harrisburg, Fort Pillow, Murfreesboro, Shiloh and Brices Crossroads.  Was a bugler and furnished his own horse.  The horse was valued at $ 1,250.  His unit surrendered on May 4, 1865 near Citronelle, Alabama. Owned land near Prosper after the Civil War and is buried in the Walnut Grove Cemetery with his wife Sarah.

"Pete" and Ruth Margarite Moseley.  Nickname is "Butch".  Basic training at Great Lakes, Illinois.  Also Monterrey, California and Guantanamo Bay, Cuba with Navy Intelligence.  Assigned to USS Springfield.  This was a Cruiser.  Worked in the Engine Room.

Naugle, Benjamin J. Sr. Confederate Army    Private     Pre Civil War-      Civil.War 1846-1864 Son of Jacob and Francis McNeil Naugle.  Enlisted in the Army on May 1, 1846 at Louisville, Kentucky and was a private in Company "C" of Howe's Kentucky Volunteers.  He was fifteen years of age and was a drummer boy. Mustered out on August 30, 1846 in New Orleans, Louisiana. . In 1847 he enlisted again in Buckner ( McKinney) after moving to the Rock Hill area in 1846.  He served in the Texas Mounted Volunteers. He was a private in Company "k" which was the Regiment (Hays) of the Texas Mounted Volunteers.  After his discharge on April 30, 1848  he was granted an additional Headright in Prosper area of 320 acres.  He already had 160 acres in Rock Hill.  in 1862 he joined the Confederate Army.  He was a private in Company "E" of the 22nd Texas Cavalry (Taylors Regiment) and was under the command of Captain Brown, who later became the Chief Justice of the TExas Supreme Court.  He was wounded in the Civil War.

Omohundro, Michael S. U. S. Marines      Sgt.      Iraq 2002-2006 Grandson of Sandra Shrader Kissinger Omohundro. Graduated from Sherman High School in 2000.  Served in Kuwait and Iraq in 2003. Also, was stationed in Okinawa, Japan after Mid-East service.  Was assigned to the First Marine Division on Amphibious and Assault Vehicles.  Also involved in Swim Rescue Operations.
Parrish, Trevor U. S Marines     Corporal       Iraq 2006-2010 Graduated from Prosper High School in 2005. Son of James and Karen Croussore of Prosper. Served in Iraq with the First Battallion, 4th Marines,  Company A, 1st Marine Division.  He was awarded the Combat Ribbon, Presidential Unit Citation, Navy Unit Command  Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. He was a Rifleman in the Infantry.   Discharged in March 2010.

Parvin, Henry Confederate Army       Civil War 1861-1865 Son of Enoch and Ruth Davis Parvin. Settled in the Rock Hill area in 1856.Joined the Confederate Cavalry in Bell County, Texas.  Had to use their own horses. Henry was captured three times but escaped. Brother of John, Hosea Jr.and William Parvin.
Parvin, Hosea, Jr. Confederate Army       Civil War 1861-1865 Son of Enock and Ruth Davis Parvin,  Settled in the Rock Hill area in 1856.  Joined the Confederate Cavalry in Bell County, Texas.  Had to use their own horses. Hosea, Jr. was wounded and spent some time in the Galveston Hospital.  Brother of John, Henry and William Parvin.
Parvin, John  Confederate Army       Civil War 1861-1865 Son of Enoch and Ruth Davis Parvin. Settled in the Rock Hill area in 1856.Joined the Confederate Cavalry in Bell County, Texas.  Had to use their own horses.  John was killed in the battle of Stone's River at Murfreesboro, Tennessee.  Brother of Henry, Hosea Jr.and  William.Parvin.
Parvin, William Confederate Army       Civil War 1861-1865 Son of Enrock and Ruth Davis Parvin.  They had five boys.  Four served in the Civil War.  George Theodore was too young to serve but the others served.  William was not in the Cavalry.  He was in the regular Confederate Army and served most of his time in Arkansas.  Three of the boys, (Henry, Hosea, Jr. and William) returned to Rock Hill after the Civil War. John was killed.

Poole, Thomas Dean U. S. Marines        E-4      Peacetime 1958-1962 Moved to Prosper in 2007.  Tom took Basic Training in San Diego, California.  He went to Air Frames School in Jacksonville, Florida and Electronics School in Memphis, (actually Millington) Tennessee.  He was assigned to the Assault Helicopters (HUS-1) and Observation (OE-1 & HOK) Squadrons in Okinawa, the F8-U Crusader Squadron in Beaufort, South Carolina and Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.

Stationed in San Diego, California, US Naval Air Station in Jacksonville, Florida, Naval Technical Training, Memphis, Tennessee and Airship Squadron 4, Weeksville, North Carolina.  (Blimps).  Job was to overhaul and responsible for the maintenance of aircraft.  Also as Flight Engineer was responsible to ready the aircraft for flight, monitor all instruments and keep command pilot informed  .Aviation Machinist made Lighter than air.

Air Force       Justin graduated from Prosper High School in 2008.  He attended Tarleton State University and the Texas State Technical Institute in Waco, Texas.  He then entered the Air Force at Lackland, AFB in San Antonio, Texas. He is the son of Barbara and Matt Jakusz of Prosper, Texas.  He is with the Air Force Security Forces.

Putman was the father of Charlotte Larson.  Charlotte, her husband Alan Larson and her mother, Wylan Putman, currently have a Celina, Texas address but live closer to Prosper.  They are very active in the Prosper "50" , The Prosper Historical Society and other organizations in Prosper.  Y. M. Putman's job was an aviation storekeeper  He served in the followiing locations:.  NAS Corpus Christi, Texas; NAAS Cabiniss Field, Corpus Christi, Texas;  HedRon 5-1&2 at Adv. Base SuptrgCom Camp Peary in Williamsburg, Virginia;  USNAB Av Sup Annex at Tanapag, Saipan in the Mariana Islands and the ASB Saipan Annex Nsc USNAD-Tauapag-Navy 3245 He has received the Naval Training Course Certificate in April, 1944 and the SKV School-NATIC in Jacksonville, Florida.  Medals he received were the Victory Medal, Point System, American Campaign Medal and the Country of Vietnam Service Appreciation Medal..His son-in-law is Alan Larson.

Was assigned to the 6th Army Signal Corp. as Petty Officer, 3rd Class.  Basic purpose was to communicate all correspondence between the Army and Navy to make sure both were on the same wavelength.  Brother of Harold Hansford Ray and grandson of John W. Reed, Dale U. S. Army       Sgt.    Vietnam 1969-1971 Moved to Prosper in 2011.  Took basic training at Fort Leonard Wood in Missouri and Artillery Training at Ft. Sill, Oklahoma.  Served in Vietnam in 1970 and 1971 with heavy artillery unit. Received Vietnam combat medal.
Reeves, Andrew Jackson Confederate Army        Civil War 1861-1865 Joined the Confederate Army in 1861 in Decatur, Alablama.  Assigned to Company H, 12th Regiment, Alabama Infantry. Received a shot to his left knee on September 19, 1864 and was admiitted to the Confederate States of America General Hospital in Charlottesville, Virginia.  Never completely healed and bothered him the rest of his life.  Died in Collin County, Texas-1925.
Reeves, Ben U. S. Army        Career 1973- Son of Troupe Reeves.  Joined Army in 1973.  Basic Training at Ft. Polk, Louisiana, then to Ft. Dix, New Jersey and then to Ft. Richardson, Alaska where he completed his two years in 1975.  Reenlisted in 1976. To Ft. Sill, Oklahoma and then to Germany at several locations, Back to Ft Hood until October 1986.    Joined the Texas National Guard as a civilian technician. Works in a Motor Pool in Dallas, Texas..  Deployed to Kuwait from March, 2003 to August, 2003.   Scheduled for Afghanistan in November 2012 but was injured while training for that mission.   Had surgery on his knee and his military career is on hold at this time. Has brother Jack Reeves who served in the Army.  Also, Grand father Andrew Jackson Reeves who served in the Civil War.

Sam Houston, then to Camp McArthur, Waco, Texas.  Sailed for Liverpool, England on August 25, 1918 and arrived September 5, 1918.  Was in the Infantry. He was hospitalized most of the time he was overseas because of a disease called the "Trench Foot" Had brother Troupe Reeves that served in the U. S. Army in WW I.. Father was Andrew Jackson Reeves who served in the Civil War.

Was killed on Kien Tuong Province, South Vietnam on July 26, 1970 when his helicopter crashed. He was 18 years old.  Received the following medals:  Air Medal, Army Commendation, Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Aircraft Crewman Badge and Award for Heroism. Brother of Lloyd Wayne and R. G. Rodgers. Father is Marion Lloyd Rodgers. His name is listed on the "Wall of Honor" at the Collin County Veterans Memorial Park in McKinney.

Johnny is from Princeton, Texas.  Joined the Air Force Reserves in 1957.  Was called to Active Duty in 1962.  Was a Medic in the Reserves.  While on active duty he was Air Evacuation Technician as they flew wounded veterans back to the U. S. from Germany.  His home base was Manchester, New Hampshire.  He was discharged in 1963..

Was Commissioned in 1971 but was delayed reportomg due to obtaining a Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering.  Reported for active duty in October 1972 and discharged in 1979 but stayed in the Reserves until 1992. Held various positions in Mechanical Engineering and Acquisition Management. Stationed at Eglin AFB in Florida working on GBU-15 Guided Weapon and in Los Angeles, California working on the Titan and Space Shuttle program coordinating with the Satellite System Program Offices (SPO) and GPS. While in the Reserves trained at Patrick Air Force Base in Florida coordinating the computer technology, logistics and database requirements. Received the Commendation Medal and the Meritorious Service Medal.

Was in active service from 1991-1997 and served 18 months in Al Kut, Iraq, and three years in Mannheim, Germany. Barney has served with the 1st Infantry Division, 1st Armored Division, 2nd Infantry Division, 36th Infantry Division and the 3rd Infantry Division in Iraq.  Barney was a M1A1 Main Battle Tank Commander, An Infantry Squad Leader and Intelligence Supervisor. Navy E-4 BWM-3cl.    Desert Storm 1992-1994 Has  lived in Prosper since 1999.  Wife of Barney Snyder.  Served in the Persian Gulf (Operation Desert Storm).She served on the USS Dixon (Submarine Tendor) as a Rescue Swimmer, Crane Operator and Small Boat Coxain. She was based out of San Diego.  Medals awarded include the Desert Storm and Desert Shield Campaign Medals and the Navy Commendation Medal.
Spurgin, O. E. (Cotton) U. S. Army         Sgt.       WW II 1941-1945 Married Marion Blackmon West (previous marriage) from Prosper.  Served with Company I of the 144th Infantry Division.  Was in Supply Management.  Distribtion of supplies.  Also Jeep driver.  Spent four years in the United States.  Served at Fort Lewis, Washington and on the East Coast  (Florida).  Also in Alabama.  Name is Orval E. but goes by the name of "Cotton" Spurgin.
Standerfer, Jerry U. S. Army Spec. 3rd Cl.     Korean 1954-1955 Son of Armpie and Maggie Williams Standerfer. Moved to Rhea's Mill in 1942.  Attended school in Rhea's Mill and Prosper.  Was in the Signal Corp. Served at Fort Bliss, Texas, Camp Gordon, Georgia in Boston, Massachusetts and Fort Polk, Louisiana.
Stanton, Doyce Lee U. S. Army     Private      WW II 1944-1946 Attended Prosper High School.  Son of Walter Malcum "Doc" and Jimmie Stanton.  Doc ran garage in Prosper.  Doyce was wounded and awarded Purple Heart in WWII.  Stationed with the 32nd. Div. in the Philippines.
Stanton, Edward D. U. S. Army        Sgt.        Vietnam 1969-1971 Graduated from Prosper High School in 1968.  Received the Bronze Star Medal and Vietnam Service Medal.  Son of Doyce and Juanice Terrell Stanton.
Staton, Carroll E. (Curley) U. S. Air Force      Mast. Sgt.       Career 1963-1985 Moved to Prosper in 1992. .Took Basic Training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio. Served one year in Korea, one year in Vietnam and 6 1/2 years in England.  The balance of his 22 years were in the United States serving in San Antonio, Amarillo, Big Spring and Wichita Falls, Texas:  Omaha, Nebraska:  Warner Robbins, Georgia: Denver, Colorado: Albuquerque, New Mexico: Goldsboro, North Carolina: Fort Walton Beach, Florida and Biloxi, Mississippi. His job in the Air Force was Telephone Switching.  He was assigned various Commands during his career in the Air Force.  Medals included the U. S. Air Force Commendation with two Oak Leaf Clusters, Presidential Citation, Air Force Good Conduct with six Oak Leaf Clusters, Outstanding unit Award with Oak Leaf Cluster, National Defense Service, Armed Forces Expeditionary, Viet Nam Service, RVN Gallantry Cross with Palm and the RVN Campaign Medals  Also was the Air Force Longevity Ribbon.
Stelzer, Graham Stone U.S. Navy-U. S. Army         Korean 1951-1957 Graduated from Prosper High School in 1950.  Son of Delma and Graham Stelzer.  Grandson of Lee Macagle (Cage) and Edna Baker Stone. Entered in U. S. Army in 1951 and served two years. (1951-1953) Went to Germany while in the Army.  Went to school at SMU for one year after the Army and entered the U. S. Navy  from 1954-1957.

Stelzer, Steven Scott U. S. Army    Spec. E-4       Iraq 2009- Scott Stelzer is the son of Steven and Marsha Stelzer and graduated from Prosper High School in 2009. As of November 2011 he is currently serving in Iraq. He is the grandson of Graham Stone and Doris Sue Stelzer.  He took his basic at Ft. Sill, Oklahoma, Jump School at Ft. Bragg, North Carolina.  He is in Field Artillery Communications.
Sternberg, Neil V. U. S. Navy    Captain      Career 1953-1988 Captain Neil Sternberg and his wife, Emma, currently live in Little Elm, Texas (2011) and attend church at the Methodist Church in Prosper, Texas.  Neil has served in the U. S. Air Force from 1953-1957 and the U. S. Air Force Reserves from 1957-1961.  He was a dentist and joined the U. S. Naval Reserves in 1961 and served until 1988.  His home base was the Naval Air Station in Dallas, Texas.  While in the Naval Reserves he served on the USS Okinawa, USS Peleliu, USS Blue Ridge, USS New Jersey, USS Hector and the USS Dixon..
Stinson, Jay U. S. Army   Sgt. Fir. Cl.     Peacetime 1986-1994 Moved to Prosper in 2011.   Served in the Army for 20 years and still in the Reserves.  Was in the Medical Corp.  Served in Saudi Arabla in 1992-1993. Served in the Regular Army for 8 years.  Was discharged.  Joiined Oklahoma National Guard to serve his 10 year contract.In 2002 went into the Regular Army Reserves and is currently  (2012) in the Reserves as a Drill Sergeant.. Has several ribbons and medals. His father served in the Army 23 years.

Stone, Hugh M. U. S. Army         WW II 1942-1945 Married Norma Jean Barnes from Prosper.  Hugh was from Celina.  Wounded three times and received the Purple Heart.

Taylor,Marshall Monroe U. S. Navy    Sea. 1st Cl.       WW  II 1942-1945 Marshall Taylor grew up in the Navo?Elm Ridge community.  He is the son of Mose Brock and Alice Crane Witt Taylor. He took his Basic Training at the Great Lakes Naval Training Center in Great Lakes, Illinois.  He was stationed out of the U. S. Naval Base in Norfolk, Virginia. While in Cuba he contacted encephalitis and was discharged (medically) in 1945

Served 6 months at Ft.. Chaffee, Arkansas and 4 months at Ft. Ord, California. Brother of Herbert, William Leeper (Jake) Elmer and Billy Jack Templin.  Step brother of D. A. and R. J. Bailey and George Taft Templin.
Templin, William L. (Jake) U. S. Army    Staff Sgt.     Korean 1949-1953 Attended Prosper Schools.  Son of George and Ruby Templin.  Brother of Elmer, Billy Jack, John and Herbert Templin. Step brother of D. A. and R. J. Bailey and George Taft Templin.  Was stationed in Japan and was one of the first soldiers to hit Korea at the beginning of the Korean War.  Served 19 months in Korea.
Terrell, Elton  "Tuffy" U. S. Navy         Korean 1950-1953 Attended Prosper High School.  Son of William Dock "Dock" and Alma Terrell.  Brother of J. W. Terrell.  Worked in engine room on Navy ship.  Spent time in Korean waters during Korean War.

Tolleson, Virgle Dan (Dan) U. S. Army         Peacetime 1947-1949 Graduated from McKinney in 1945.   Son of Jack and Allene Tolleson.  Jack operated Prosper Gin Co.  Dan served in Paratroopers. ( 82nd Airborne Division) 18 months in Japan. Also earned Glider wings.
Tolleson, William U. S. Army Air Force   Corporal       WW II 1942-1946 Graduated from Prosper in 1940.  Son of William Franklin and Eldora Tolleson.  Served in Quartermaster Unit.  Also was Field Lighter.  Prepared lights on airfield for night landings.  Served 23 months at the Fort Worth Army Airfield (Later was Carswell AFB)  Then served in New Guinea, Leyte, and Mindanao in the Philippines, Okinawa and Iwo Jima.
Trowbridge, John P. U. S. Army    Spec. 4     Mideast 2009- John Trowbridge is the son of James and Jo Ann Trowbridge of Prosper, Texas.  He graduated from Prosper High School (GED) and entered the Army in 2009.  He is assigned to the 8th Engineer Battalion at Fort Hood, Texas. His wife, Kariee, lives in Fort Hood, Texas.  As of September 2011 he is currently stationed with the 54th Engineer Battalion in Afghanistan. His step brother is Thomas Sigafoos.
Tuggle, Kyle Lee U. S. Navy    Chief  P. O.    Afghan/Iraq 1999- Graduated from Prosper High School in 1998. Enlisted in the U. S. Navy in 1999 and he is an Aviation Ordnanceman.  (Loading and securing the bombs on jets from the aircraft carrier) His Boot Camp was at Great Lakes, Illinois and his Training was at Pensacola, Florida. He has been deployed to Afghanistan (2002), Iraq (2005) and currently (2011) is assigned to the USS George H. W. Bush in the Persian Gult.   He is based at the Oceana Naval Station in Virginia Beach, Virginia. 
Underwood, Ron U. S. Army Air Force     M Sgt.       Career 1963-1983 Lived in Prosper since 1985.  Was in Air Force 20 years performing Weapons Control Systems.  Served in Vietnam, Thailand, Philippines and Alaska. Medals include the Meritorious Service Medal, Commendation Medal with 1 Oak Leaf Cluster, Master Instructor and Vietnam Service Medal.
Van Bevers, Jack U. S. Army       Private       WW II 1942-1943 Taught school in Prosper. Married Dorothy Robison from Prosper.  Was injured in jump school at Fort Benning, Georgia while training as a paratrooper.  Was discharged from Ft. Meade, South Dakota in 1943 as a Chapel's Assistant.
Vaughn, Jimmy U. S. Army       Spec. 3        Korean 1954-1956 Attended school in Prosper.  Took Basic Training at Ft. Bliss, El Paso, Texas and Ft. Ord, California.  Was Operations Manager and also in the Paratroopers at Ft. Bragg, North Carolina.
Vervalin, John Howard U. S. Army          WW II   Parents were Ruben and Dolly Vervalin,  Wife was Florence Vervalin who taught school in Prosper during the 1940's.
Walker, Barnett Oliver Jr. U. S. Air Force Sr. Master Sgt.     Career 1979-2001 Moved to Prosper in 2006.  His job classification was Classified.  He was a Gulf War Veteran.  He Ha been assigned to Offutt Air Force Base in Nebraska, Osan Air Base in South Korea, MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa, Florida, The Royal Air Force Base at Mildenhall, United Kingdom and Buckley Air Force Base in Aurora, Colorado.  In addition he had temporary assignments in Egypt, Honduras, Bosnia, Iraq and Saudi Arabia.  He has 15 medals, including the Meritorious Service Medal, Air Force Commendation Medal, NATO Service Medal, Southwest Asia Service Medal and the Kuwait Liberation Medal from Kuwait and Saudia Arabia.  After discharge he has been the Assistant District Attorney of Collin County and Chief Prosecutor for County Court at Law # 2 and #4.  He has had his own Law Practice and in 2012 was elected the Judge of Collin County Court at Law # 2.
Waller, Perry U. S. Army     Spec 4     Peacetime 1963-1965 Graduated from Prosper High School in 1959    .  Son of Raymond and Bernice Bratcher Waller. Was stationed at Fort Lewis, Washington for two years with the 4th Infantry Division, Artillery Unit, 6th Army, Company C.  Was in Field Communications as a lineman.

Washburn, Sr., John U. S. Army        E-7         Vietnam  1969-1976 Moved to Prosper in 2002.  Took Basic Training in Louisiana.  Was in Special Forces-Green Berets.  Was primary a medic but his second MOS was weapons. Was stationed at Ft. Bragg, North Carolina and with the 20th SF Group and 5th SF Group in Bad Tolls, Germany.  Received the Presidential Citation Award Medal.
Webb, Maynor Rattan Texas Cavalry, N. G.         WW I 1918-1919 Son of William Webb and Martha Rattan Webb.  Was a saddler (maker of saddles and harness for the Cavalry) in Troop B, 5th Texas Cavalry, National Guard.  Served at Ft. Bliss, El Paso, Texas. Operated Grocery Store in Prosper-1926-1954.  Married Charlotte Hankins.  Couple was known as "Ma and Pa"  Webb.
Webb, Stanley U. S. Army         S-5        Vietnam 1966-1968 Graduated from Prosper High School in 1965.  Son of Charles and Flossie Cowan Webb.  Served one year at Fort Hood, Texas and one year in Vietnam. Second Armored Division, 9th Infantry in Vietnam. Was a cook and Club Manager.
Webster, Clarence O. U. S. Army         WW II 1943-1945 Married Lillie B. Skelton from Prosper.  Clarence (Chigger) was from Celina.Served with 740th Tank Bn. In Germany.
Wehunt, William C. U. S. Army     Captain     Career 1959-1979 William C. Wehunt and his wife Kay currently live in McKinney, Texas and attend church at the Methodist Church in Prosper.(2011)  Captain Wehunt served as a Battalion Signal Officer and was in the Army for 20 years.  He served two tours in Germany and two tours in Vietnam (1966-1967 (with the First Signal Brigade) and 1970-1971) (with the 101st Airborne Division) He was discharged from Fort. Hood, Texas.

Wilson, James Roy (Jim) U. S. Army      Private       WW I 1917-1919 Son of John W. and Nancy Sargent Wilson of Prosper. Father of J. W. Wilson.  Married Artye Webb, daughter of Maynor and Charlotte Webb. Served in Battery B, 345th Field Artillery and served in Germany and France.
Wilson, James Wendall U. S. Air Force    Captain     Peacetime 1957-1960 Graduated from Prosper in 1953.  Son of James Roy (Jim) and Artye Webb Wilson and grandson of John Wesley Wilson.  Goes by "J. W."  
Wilson, John Wesley Confederate Army        Civil War 1865- John Wesley Wilson and wife Nancy Sargent Wilson moved their family from West Virginia to the Navo/Elm Ridge Community in 1878.  John had served in the Confederate Army ( West Virginia) and was in one of the first battles of the war near Philipi, West Virginia.  The family moved from Navo/Elm Ridge to Prosper in 1903.   He is the father of James (Jim) Wilson and grandfather of James Wendell (J. W.) Wilson. The family was one of the early settlers in the Prosper area.
Wilson, Kenneth U. S. Army        E-4      Vietnam 1966-1968 Moved to Prosper in 2009.  Took Basic Training at Fort Bragg, North Carolina.  Served in Vietnam in 1967-1968. Was assigned to the 630th Transportation Unit as as 61b30 Patrol Boat Operator.Also served at Fort Eustis, Virginia.  Brother of Rodger Keith Wilson.
Wilson, Rodger Keith U. S. Army       Spec 4       Vietnam 1969-1971 Moved to Prosper in 2009.  Took Basic Training at Fort Bragg , North Carolina.  Was stationed in Germany during the Vietnam war era.  Served in D Battery 3/84th Artillery USAREUR. (United States Army Europe)  MOS was 15E20-A power station operator for the Pershing Missile Firing Crew.  Brother of Kenneth Wilson.
Wilson, William D. (Bill) U. S. Army Air Force   Lt.  Colonel        WW II 1942-1945 Graduated from Prosper High School in 1937. Stationed with the 8th Air Force in England. Flew P-51 Mustangs.  Flew in Normandy Invasion.  352 Fighter Group.  Was shot down in France in 1944 and a German prisoner until end of the war.  POW in Stalag Luft I, Barth, Germany.  Liberated by Russian troops. Son of Cullough and Nola Greenwood Wilson..
