USS New York

USS New York

The USS New York, one of the Navy's newest
warships, is currently being built in Louisiana.
The ship's construction includes 24 tons of
scrap steel from the World Trade Center. The
684-foot vessel is one of a new class of warship,
designed for special operation missions against
terrorists. The crew will consist of 360 sailors,
and 700 Marines. The Marines can be deployed by
helicopter or assault craft. The ship's motto:

"Never Forget"

The Pictures below depict an extremely rare occurrence; Operation Valiant Shield included 3 US Navy battle groups
led by aircraft carriers sailing together as one group. In the sky above,  a B2 leading a group of F18s.
