ANGEL DECOY
This is an Air
Force C-130
releasing flares to repel
heat seeking missiles. The
pattern formed by the decoys
are how they got their
name.
These photos came to me by e-mail. If anyone knows who took them, please let me
know.
AIR FORCE GRAVE YARD
These incredible pictures are from Davis Monthan Air Force Base, near Tucson,
Arizona. These are old airplanes that have been decommissioned from service.
Sitting on the desert floor there, is the world's 3rd largest air force, and the
only unit in the Air Force that actually makes a profit.

This is a Global Hawk UAV, (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) based out of Edwards Air Force Base, California. The unmanned aircraft is piloted by remote control from a data base at Edwards, and has flown more than 250 missions in Iraq and Afghanistan. This craft can stay in the air for almost 2 days at a time, at altitudes of over 60,000 feet. With stealth technology the UAV can deliver its payloads on an unsuspecting enemy without ever being seen or heard. |
